Mental Health in Everyday Life – How Do I Stay Mentally Strong?

The Healthy Everyday Series by BIOGENA ONE – now on YouTube 🎬

When was the last time you paused to truly check in with yourself – beyond tasks, deadlines, and to-do lists? In a world full of constant notifications, expectations, and endless availability, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves. Mental health has become one of the most valuable resources of our time.

But what does it really mean to be mentally strong? Is it about pushing through no matter what – or about pausing before things become too much? Being mentally strong means having clarity about your needs, emotional resilience in everyday life, and the ability to be mindful with yourself. It’s a daily practice – one we can all learn.

This is exactly where our new video series  'The Healthy Everyday Series' by BIOGENA ONE comes in. This is not a polished, picture-perfect wellness fantasy. It’s about real people, in real-life situations. Our host Ben Angel takes on the role of a curious observer: meeting people in their everyday lives, asking thoughtful questions, and trying out new perspectives for himself. Because sometimes, just a few small changes in your daily routine can spark something big.

The very first episode tackles a topic many of us know too well: feeling mentally overwhelmed – and how we can navigate it. In this 15-minute documentary-style video, Ben takes us along on his personal journey towards more mental strength. He meets three inspiring women – Ramona, a clinical psychologist, Anna, a yoga teacher, and Barbara, a digital marketer and mom of a four-year-old son. Together, they talk about their own experiences and how they approach mental health in their daily lives. Relatable. Honest. Practical.

Ramona Gfölner – “Saying stop isn’t a setback. It’s self-care.”

The first stop: Ramona’s psychology practice in Vienna. She talks about “functioning on autopilot,” the invisible weight of daily demands – and why routines, mindfulness, and structure are essential for mental balance. Every day, she supports people through challenges, illness, and change, and she knows how easily the little things can throw us off track.

Ramona shares why feeling overwhelmed should never be the “new normal” and gives practical tips on setting boundaries and practicing honest self-awareness: “You need to learn to pause regularly – and ask yourself: How am I feeling right now? What do I really need?” She also reminds us that mental health often starts with physical factors – like nutrient deficiencies, which can be identified through targeted blood tests. Keyword: gut-brain axis – the fascinating way your gut influences your mood, wellbeing, and mental state.

Anna Posch – “My yoga mat is my safe space.”

Next, Ben visits Anna in her yoga studio. For Anna, yoga is more than exercise – it’s her emotional safe space: “The mat is the place where you can just be yourself.” Her journey began after a breakup, during a period of uncertainty. She shares how yoga helped her find emotional stability – and why breath, body awareness, and presence are key.

Anna brings us back to the here and now, helping to create clarity and calm in everyday life. Her tip for starting: “Put on your favorite music, roll out your mat, and move your body intuitively – without any pressure to perform.” It’s not about performance. It’s about feeling. About connection. And about trusting yourself again.

Barbara Aschermayer – “Nature listens, even when you don’t say a word.”

Finally, Ben visits Barbara – a self-employed digital marketer, mom of a young son, and lifelong animal lover. Her life is full, but she has found her personal balance in the stable with her horse. There, she enjoys moments free from overthinking and to-do lists: “This is my sanctuary. I can just switch off and be in the moment.”

Barbara speaks with moving honesty about experiencing two miscarriages – and how opening up about them helped her feel less alone: “Openness is a key to healing for me. You think you’re alone, but once you start talking, you realize you’re not.” Her approach to mental health? Honesty. Openness. And creating small islands of time in a busy life that are hers alone.

Mental Strength Starts in Everyday Life

What unites all three women: mental strength isn’t something lofty or out of reach. It starts in everyday life – in small routines, conscious choices, and sometimes simply on a yoga mat, in a conversation, or in a stable. You don’t have to change your whole life to be mentally strong.

But you can start by making yourself a priority.

The best place to begin? Right where your day starts – in the morning. A solid morning routine can become an anchor in your day: a few minutes of movement, a deep breath at an open window, or an honest conversation over your first coffee. And maybe with a glass of BIOGENA ONE – your quiet companion, nourishing you from the inside out. With 99 carefully selected micronutrients, botanicals, medicinal mushrooms, B vitamins, and Ubiquinol, BIOGENA ONE supports you exactly when you need it most: at the very start of your day.
