Greens powders are becoming increasingly popular as they offer a concentrated load of nutrients in a convenient drink. Brands such as AG1 and BIOGENA ONE are among the big players. But what is the difference exactly between the two? We compare ingredients including dosages, flavor and taste, the companies behind and of course the price. Here we go!
1. Ingredients & dosages
2. Flavor and taste
3. Companies behind the green powders
4. Price/Value-for-money
1. Ingredients & dosages in comparison
The best greens powders provide a broad spectrum of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, plant-based active ingredients and beneficial gut bacteria. When forming your buying decision, the right dosage is something you should check. Many products sound promising but only contain small amounts of certain nutrients. A good greens powder drink should be sufficiently dosed to have a truly health-supporting effect*. For this you can use the NRV – “Nutrient Reference Value” – which are EU guidance levels on the daily amount of vitamins and minerals a healthy person needs to prevent deficiencies.
With products that don’t disclose their ingredients and dosage transparently, customers risk receiving an inadequate dosage.

2. Flavor and Taste
When it comes to greens drinks and their flavor, there’s an obvious challenge: when you pulverize fruits or vegetables and mix in a variety of different ingredients, it can create quite a challenging scent. That’s why everyone should try for themselves which smell they can live with each day after opening the greens powder. With our two big players, the scent is very balanced overall – though with BIOGENA ONE, it’s less intense compared to AG1’s pouch, thanks to the individual sachets.
What does BIOGENA ONE taste like?
BIOGENA ONE tastes like a refreshing blend of apple and kiwi flavor. Cucumber and wasabi leaf powder also contribute to the unique flavor.
Compared to BIOGENA ONE, AG1’s taste comes with a pleasant sweetness and notes of pineapple and vanilla.
Now, which one tastes better?
Well, to stay fair in this comparison, and as tastes are always subjective – we decided not to write about the test result of a blind testing we did with 100 people in Vienna. But: Even though they’re both green, they taste really different. So we happily encourage you to simply compare for yourself. If you’ve already tested AG1, you might want to give BIOGENA ONE also a try and order our 2-day taste test from our shop for free (Code: TASTEONE25).
Finally, why is taste such a big thing? Our behavioral scientist has a simple answer: “Only taste makes your healthy routine stick.” Because you will use your greens drink every single day. And a taste that works for you is – as we call it in Austria – like Christmas and Easter in one day: It’s awesome and will help you to create your daily healthy routine – and really stick to it.
